So today, I rode my bike down to this trendy coffee shop down town, called Augies, to meet my friend Sarah. I was in my team kit and everything, and I felt so out of place because everyone else was so hip and fashionable. But it was worth it because this very attractive guy with a bike who was getting a drink there also, came up to me and we talked a little and he told me about the Bicycle Kitchen that had just opened up around the corner. Gosh, I love being a cyclist. You meet so many chill people. Well, anyway, it was nice to talk to a friend before I leave tomorrow. Plus that Moroccan Mint Green tea that I had was delicious. My personal favorite. Sarah had to go work at the theater festival after an hour of talking so we said good bye and I continued on my bike ride. It was thursday, so I thought I’d go see what everyone was up to at crit practice since my coach wanted me to do some race pace riding today. I stayed with the pack for a whole lap! then the went on their last lap so I just went off. They all usually go crazy in that last lap, and I didn’t feel like risking getting hurt. I ended up getting 25 miles in. not bad for what I did. It was a nice “farewell, Redlands” ride haha. well, In-N-Out was delicious, as well :) I still can’t believe I’ll be moving into my dorm tomorrow in San Diego! This semester is definitely going to be funzies.

Tomorrow is my last day in Redlands before I move into my dorm in San Diego on Friday. There are so many people I would love to spend it with. But, alas. I know the feeling isn’t mutual, so I think I’ll just spend the day packing. maybe I’ll have coffee with sarah if she’s not busy.

I can’t believe I went to that marching band reunion thing today. Sarah talked me into it, but we didn’t even really hang out. All it pretty much did was remind me how much I hated doing band. But it was awesome to see Olivia, Nathan, Matt, and Christian! I am really going to miss them.

Yesterday I went with friends to the beach. I was expecting to have a great time catching up with friends after a long summer, and just have a great beach day. Instead, I spent most of my time being bored and annoyed. It was just same-old, same-old with everyone. They were still talking shit on the same people. They were still their same judgmental selves. There was just too much negative energy, and I felt like some of them didn’t want me there at all. It’s just really sad that all we have in common is our past and mutual distaste of a few individuals. I’m just looking forward to meeting new people. People I don’t have a past with. People I can begin a bright future with. I don’t want to talk shit on people all the time. If I don’t like someone, I just won’t spend time with them. For me, spending time with those people just isn’t healthy. I’m different around them. I close up. I want to meet people that I can be myself around.

The Front Bottoms | You Wouldn’t Be Laughing

I made a list of all the friends that I never wanna see again,
and I am sorry but your name fell below every single one of them,
high school is over and I’ve wasted too much time,
making sentences of words just because they rhyme,
you wouldn’t smile if you knew how I felt about every single one of you

yes. my life right now.

Hey followers— just a warning. Some of my posts may start to be political in the next few months. I just turned 18 a few months ago, so I’ll be able to vote in the next election once I register this next month.

Things you should know about my political views:

That’s mostly it. Just a heads up for those of you who do or don’t agree with the above.

I’ve slowly been getting my school supplies and text books in the mail and it feels like christmas. Yesterday I finally got my Calculus III and Mechanics of Flight books! I’m also super stoked to wear a lab coat for Chem200! This semester should be funzies.

I hate how when someone from redlands asks me what school I’ll be going to, and they hear that it’s a CSU school, that I can just feel the disappointment ooze from their eyes as they force a smile and congratulate me. They know nothing about my school. They know nothing about my major. They don’t know that I will be majoring in aerospace engineering. they don’t know that my school’s engineering department is partnering with MIT for an amazing research project. They don’t know that five of the engineers(including the head engineer) on the most recent mars rover mission are graduates of my school. They don’t know that my school has an excellent study abroad program for engineers that will help me in my career later on. They don’t know that I’ll be nurtured by a cycling rich community and coached by a former olympian. They don’t know that I have wanted this for so long. Or maybe they just don’t care. because all they hear is that it is a CSU. because if I don’t go to the local private university or a UC, I’m a beneath my peers. I actually had a chance to go to a UC, but I turned them down because I loved my school so much. I’m just so glad I can turn my back on all of this on friday. then it won’t be what school I’m going to, it’ll be who I meet, what classes I’m taking, and what I do with my spare time.

I have this weird thing where after about four or more years— once I’ve gotten to know people— I begin to push them away. All of their little habits begin to annoy me, and eat away at my tolerance until there is just nothing left. I slowly begin to cut off relations with them until contact is nonexistent. Then I start all over.

Earlier today, I said that I didn’t think I’d ever get married. After further contemplation and after hearing their encouragement “oh, you’ll find someone right for you”, I realized that my friends may have thought that I meant to say something along the lines of “No boy will ever like me. boo hoo. I’ll die with a million cats.” But this is not what I meant at all. In actuality, I was simply stating that I am questioning the whole idea of marriage. I’m not questioning the idea of human relationships— romantic, sexual, or platonic— just marriage.
